Hole Hog core drills can be used in a variety of applications. The two most significant applications are:

1. Enlarging existing holes

2. Cutting large diameter holes in thin materials.

(1.) Hole Hogs can replace reamers in many applications where a significant amount of material must be removed.

A Hole Hog will enlarge a hole 60%. The smallest hole which may be enlarged by a specific Hole Hog is rep- resented by the accompanying pilot drill on it’s left side.

(2) A large diameter hole is one who’s diameter is more than twice the thickness of the material being drilled. A 9/16 or 5/8 diameter hole, in a 1/4″ thick frame, is a large diameter hole. This type of drilling is often difficult with standard drills. They may catch in the hole, resulting in broken, chipped or bent drills. This problem is eliminated when using a Hole Hog and it’s companion pilot drill Caution ‘Any cutting tool may break or shatter under improper use.
